The next meeting of the Orleans County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) Committee will be held on Thursday May 16, 2024 at 1:00pm at the Hoag Library, 134 S Main St. in Albion.  The meeting is open to the public.

The LEPC is charged with developing a Hazardous Materials Response Plan and providing information about potentially hazardous chemicals that may be stored in our community.  As part of their role, the LEPC reviews this plan, and the Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan, annually and makes updates as needed

 The LEPC is comprised of:

• Elected state, local, and tribal officials
• Police, fire, civil defense, and public health professionals
• Environment, transportation, and hospital officials
• Facility representatives
• Representatives from community groups and the media
